Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Examination for Secondary Education, Assam
The Government in the Secondary Education Department vide the Assam Secondary
Education (Provincialized) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2012 has prescribed the amended qualifications for direct recruitment to the post of graduate teachers. Accordingly the first Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) for Secondary Education in Assam will be conducted in the last week of February, 2013 by the Government of Assam, in Secondary Education Department.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA for Graduate Teachers in Secondary Schools:
The Assam Secondary Education (Provincialised) Service (Amendment) Rules, 2012 has prescribed the amended qualification for direct recruitment to the post of graduate teachers.
As per the substituted Schedule –II, the qualification for
1) Graduate teacher has been prescribed as BA/B.Sc/ B.Com with 50% marks with B.T./ B.Ed. degree from any recognized university.
2) Hindi Teacher: Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T / B. Ed. degree from any recognized University.
3) Classical Teacher (Sanskrit):- Shastri with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Sanskrit as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T/ B.Ed degree from any recognized University.
4) Classical Teacher such as Arabic, Urdu, Persian etc:- MM with 50% marks with degree qualification from any recognized University or B.A with Arabic as one of the subjects with 50% marks and B.T./B.Ed. from any recognized University.
5) Classical Teacher (Assamese Language, Manipuri Language):- B.A with Honours/ Major in concerned subject with 50% marks and B.T. /B.Ed. degree from any recognized University.
2) Hindi Teacher: Pravin/ Ratna in Hindi with 50% marks having degree qualification from any recognized university or B.A with Hindi as one of the subject with 50% marks and B.T / B. Ed. degree from any recognized University.

A. The Candidate must be a Citizen of India.
B. He/she must be a Graduate having 50% marks from a recognized University with B.T/B. Ed. from a recognized University. However, a candidate not having B.T. / B.Ed. as professional qualification may also apply since relaxation as mentioned above is available up to 01.01.2015 for recruitment to the post of graduate teacher.
C. Age of the candidate should not be above 38 years as on 01.01.2012. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
B. He/she must be a Graduate having 50% marks from a recognized University with B.T/B. Ed. from a recognized University. Number of Vacancies:
The number of vacant posts of Graduate Teachers is approximately 4500
(the figure is indicative and may increase subject to vacancy).
Time Schedule for TET, 2012, Assam:
Issue of Application Form through Post Office: Monday, 1/10/12 to Wednesday, 10/10/12 during post office working hours
Last date of Submission of Application form in Post Office: Up to 30/10/12 during post office working hours
Issue of Admit Card through Post Office: Tentatively by end of December, 2012
TET Examination will be held in: Tentatively in Last week of February, 2013
Declaration of Result: Tentatively by 20th March 2013
Issue and Submission of Application Form:
The application forms will be issued through designated Post Offices and the filled-up application form will have to be submitted in any of these designated Post Offices.
The cost of the application form is Rs.350/- (Rupees Three hundred and Fifty only) payable at the Post Office.
