A walk-in-interview will be held on 30 November, 2012 from 10.00 a.m. onwards in the office of the Head, Department of Molecular Biology & Biotechnology, Tezpur University, for the

following temporary positions in the DBT Project entitled “Strengthening of Biotechnology teaching, training and research in Universities and Colleges in the Northeast” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

Senior Research Fellow (SRF) : 01 (one)
Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences /Microbiology /Molecular Biology /Biochemistry/Biophysics /Biotechnology /Zoology /Botany from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. NET/GATE qualified or candidates having some research experience will be preferred.
Age: The upper age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation upto 5 years will be given to the candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category.
Emoluments: Rs. 14,000 + 10% HRA p.m. and Rs. 18,000 + 10% HRA p.m. for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable for another six months or till completion of the project whichever is earlier.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) : 02 (two)
Qualification: M.Sc. degree in Life Sciences /Microbiology /Molecular Biology /Biochemistry/Biophysics /Biotechnology /Zoology /Botany from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate. NET/GATE qualified or candidates having some research experience will be preferred.
Age: The upper age limit is 28 years. Age relaxation upto 5 years will be given to the candidates belonging SC/ST/OBC/Women and Physically challenged category.
Emoluments: Rs. 12,000 + 10% HRA p.m. and Rs. 16,000 + 10% HRA p.m. for NET/GATE qualified candidates.
Duration: Initially for a period of one year and extendable for another six months or till completion of the project whichever is earlier.
Laboratory Assistant (LA) : 02 (two)
Qualification: Candidate should be class XII passed with 50% marks in science stream. One year experience in any government R&D laboratory, University, Institute is preferable.

Emoluments: Rs. 5,000 p.m. (Consolidated)
Appointment will be initially for a period of one year which may be extended further depending upon satisfactory performance of the incumbent and co-terminus with the project.
Interested candidates may appear before the interview board along with all the necessary documents and a copy of curriculum vitae (CV) which are to be produced before 10.00 am on the date of interview.
N.B. No TA/DA will be paid to the candidates for attending the interview.
